How do I select a cell?

  1. Select a cell in a tableClick within it.

How do I select multiple cells?

Consecutive cells:

  1. Click within the first cell to be selected.
  2. Multiple consecutive cells selectedDrag your cursor over the other cells you wish to select.
  3. Release the mouse button.

Non-consecutive cells:

  1. Position your cursor in the bottom left corner of the first cell to be selected.

  2. Click to select the first cell.
  3. Press and hold the <Ctrl> key.
  4. Follow steps 1 & 2 for all other cells you wish to select.


How do I merge cells?

  1. Select the cells you wish to merge.
  2. Merge cells button in ribbonClick the ‘Table Tools, Layout’ ribbon.
  3. Click the ‘Merge Cells’ button.

How do I split cells?

  1. Click within the cell or select the cells you wish to split.
  2. Click to display the ‘Table Tools, Layout’ ribbon.
  3. Split cells in ribbonClick the ‘Split Cells’ button to display the ‘Split Cells’ dialogue box.
  4. Split Cells Dialogue boxUse the spin controls to adjust the number of columns/rows required or delete the value and type a new one.
  5. Click ‘OK’.
    You may have to adjust the width of your columns to align them with other rows after splitting.
