How do I turn on my computer?
Your computer or laptop will have a power button.
Press the power button once.
The computer will then begin the start up (boot up) process. Wait a few minutes until the login screen is displayed.
NOTE: You may also have to switch on the monitor.
How do I shut down the PC?
Your computer needs to be shut down correctly to help avoid file corruption and the possibility of your computer not functioning as it should. It also ensures that all temporary files created while you were working are deleted.
Click the ‘Windows’ icon.- Click the ‘Power’ button.
- Click ‘Shut Down’.
If updates have been downloaded to your computer the option ‘Install Updates and Shutdown’ will be provided. Always choose this when available.
