VDI Quick Fixes - General

My account is locked.  How do I unlock it?

If you enter your password wrong 10 times your account will lock. This will prevent you logging in for 10 minutes.

  1. Leave it 10 minutes to unlock automatically. Do not retry during this time, otherwise the lockout time will increase.

I’m connected to WiFi but can't connect to the VDI. Why?

If you are in the Square or Kerr Street, for security reasons, access to the VDI is only permitted on the KEYCORP and LIFE-MAIN WiFi networks. If you are on any other network, KEYSERVICES, KEY-MOBILE etc you will not be able to log into the VDI.

Solution:

Disconnect from the WiFi and plug in a network cable or ask one of the ICT Support Team to provide you with access to the KEYCORP or LIFEMAIN networks.

Why is no server displayed?

When logging in if there is no server showing:

  1. Add Server buttonClick the ‘+’ icon or click 'New Server'.
  2. Add server in Horizon ClientType the server name.
  3. Click ‘Connect’.

For security reasons, we can’t post the server name here. If you are in the office, start Horizon Client on another PC, the server name will show there. If you still are unsure, contact the ICT Helpdesk.

I’ve got a security warning - How do I sort this?

VMWare Error Message

You should always log out the VDI session to ensure that it closes down properly.

If you close your session without logging off you may experience issues next time you try to log in. A security/error warning may be displayed.

Phone the ICT Helpdesk to have this session removed, allowing you to log into a fresh PC.
