What is ‘TeamViewer’?

‘TeamViewer’ is a piece of software which allows ICT staff to connect to your PC. This is used for some support calls where it is easier and quicker to see what is happening on screen and take control of your PC to solve your problem.

Only staff within certain departments in the Square will require access to your PC. The TeamViewer ID number should not be disclosed to anyone outside of Key.

What information do you need to connect to my PC?

Key PC ID LabelIn order for your ICT support officer to connect to your computer they need the PC ID number. This is usually found on a sticker on the top or front of the base unit. It is prefixed with the letters “KH” or “CL”.

What is the ‘TeamViewer ID’?

Method One:

On some occasions it may be necessary to get your ‘TeamViewer ID’.

  1. Hover your cursor over the teamview icon to display the IDHover your cursor over the ‘TeamViewer’ icon in the taskbar to display your ID.

If no ‘TeamViewer’ icon is displayed in the taskbar:

  1. Hidden icon in taskbar iconClick the ‘Show hidden icons’ icon.
  2. Hover over the ‘TeamViewer’ icon.

Method Two:

If no ‘TeamViewer’ icon is showing you may need to find and run the software.

  1. Click the ‘Start’/’Windows’ button in the bottom left of the screen.
  2. Type ‘TeamViewer’
  3. Click ‘TeamViewer’ when it shows in the search results.
  4. Teamviewer window showing the ID numberTeamViewer will run and the ID number will be displayed. Close this window only when ICT Staff are finished working on your PC.
