How do I log into the VDI?

An icon for ‘Horizon View Client’ should exist on your desktop, taskbar and in the start menu.

  1. Horizon Client iconDouble click the ‘Horizon View Client’ icon on your desktop. (Single click the icon in the start menu or taskbar).
  2. VDI Server in Horizon ClientDouble click on the only available server.
  3. Disclaimer shown before accessing the VDIA disclaimer will be displayed. Read and accept this to continue.
  4. Login dialogue box in Horizon ClientType your username and password (shown as a series of black dots).
  5. Click ‘Login’ and authenticate in the normal manner.
  6. Server list when logged into the VDIMost users have only one server option, some may have access to two. Double click the server to which you wish to connect.

Why is ‘Access Denied’?

  1. You haven’t authenticated quick enough. If you use the Microsoft Authenticator app try opening the app on your phone and then entering your username/password on the PC.
  1. You have typed your password incorrectly.

Why do I need to log off the VDI?

If you do not log off your VDI session properly you may experience problems when you log back in. Always log off your VDI session if you are going away for an extended period of time. If your session gets disconnected you only have 30 minutes to log back to prevent any unsaved data being lost.

Remember anything the happens in your session is YOUR responsibility. If you leave the PC logged in and someone does something they shouldn’t while you are logged in you will be held responsible.

How do I log off from the VDI?

Close VDI window - NEVER USE THIS OPTION!NEVER use the cross in the VDI toolbar to close your VDI session. Always log off the VDI using the instructions below to ensure you get a clean log off with no issues and a fresh PC when you log back in.

  1. Sign out the VDIClick the ‘Windows’ icon in the bottom left corner.
  2. Click the ‘User Account’ icon.
  3. Click ‘Sign out’.

The virtual PC will shut down and you will be returned to your PC desktop.
