The wallpaper should remain the Key/Lifestyles branded image, the choice of colour is up to you. Choose from one of the twenty provided. The ring tone can be changed, to one of the many installed. No others should be downloaded.

Can I download apps from the Play Store?

A Google Play Store (Android) account has been created for you and the details entered into your handset. You should not attempt to change this password. No extra Apps should be downloaded without the permission of ICT staff. We have to ensure that all apps on the phone fully comply with GDPR.

Can I remove the passcode lock?

Each time you use your phone you will need to enter your passcode. This should not be removed or changed. Do not store a note of your passcode with the phone.  If you lose your phone and it has no passcode or a note of it is stored with the phone, information on it can be accessed by anyone.  This ICO would have to be notified of this possible data breach.  It is possible to ADD fingerprint or facial recognition to unlock.

Can I change the notifications on the lock screen?

On your lock screen you will be shown email and text notifications but the full message will not be displayed. Unlock your phone to view the message. Again, should you lose your phone and the full notification be displayed, sensitive/personal information may be displayed. Again, this could be considered a data breach and have to be reported to the ICO.

If you are asked to update Apps or System Settings, do so! If given the option between downloading via ‘3/4G or WiFi’ ensure you choose ‘WiFi’. as this minimises any data charges on your phone account.

Instructions for both processes can be found later in this guide.
