VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure)

VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure)

What is VDI?

VDI stands for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure and is a technology which allows you to log into a “virtual PC” on a centralised server to work. When you are working in the VDI all processes are completed on the main servers in Glasgow.

How do I connect to the VDI?

Use the ‘VMWare Horizon View Client’ to access the server located in Glasgow.

If you are using a WiFi connection and are located at either The Square or Kerr Street, ensure you are connected to either KEYCORP or LIFE-MAIN networks. Other WiFi networks are not permitted access to the VDI for security reasons.

Before connecting to the VDI you should read the ICT Policy.
