What is the ‘Start Menu’?

The ‘Start Menu’ is the gateway to your computer. From this menu you can choose to run a program, get help, log off, shut down windows etc.

Access the start menu by clicking the ‘Start/Windows’ icon in the taskbar at the bottom of the screen.

How do I run programs using the Start Menu?

1. Click the ‘Start/Windows’ button.
   The ‘Start Menu’ will be displayed (A).
2. Click ‘All Apps; to view all software installed on the PC. Scroll through the list and click on the program you wish to use.
3. Programs you use frequently can be ‘pinned’ to the Start Menu. Click one of the icons to start that program.
