Adding an Authentication Method

Can I have more than one authentication method?

You can add more than one authentication method. When logging into the VDI using Horizon Client, notifications will only be sent to the default method of authentication.

If you have been provided with a replacement mobile phone you will need to update the authentication app to use your new device.

How do I add an authentication method?

  2. Enter your email address and click ‘Next’.
  3. Enter your password and click ‘Next’.

  5. Click ‘Add Method’.
  6. Microsoft Authenticator, first step, getting the app notificationYou will be prompted to download and install the Microsoft Authentication app. As already mentioned, this is already installed, click ‘Next’.
  7. On your phone - Open the Authenticator App.
  8. Menu option in Authenticator App, Add Account option highlightedOn your phone - Click the menu option (three dots in the top right).
  9. On your phone - Choose ‘Add Account’.
  10. Work or School account option selectedOn your phone - Choose ‘Work or school account’.
  11. Scan a QR code highlightedOn your phone - Click ‘Scan a QR code’. You may need to allow the app access to your camera.
  12. Point the camera on your phone at the QR code to scan it and click ‘Next’.
  13. Lets try out the authentication app notificationOn your phone - Open the ‘Authentication App’ and click ‘Approve’ to test the activation has been successful.
  14. Authenticator setup complete and notification approvedYou will be notified on screen that the authentication has been approved. Click ‘Next’ to finish the process.
