Can I have more than one authentication method?
You can add more than one authentication method. When logging into the VDI using Horizon Client, notifications will only be sent to the default method of authentication.
If you have been provided with a replacement mobile phone you will need to update the authentication app to use your new device.
How do I add an authentication method?
- In any web browser go to https://aka.ms/setupsecurityinfo (Remember, type this into the address bar at the top, not the search bar).
- Enter your email address and click ‘Next’.
- Enter your password and click ‘Next’.
- Click ‘Security Info’.
- Click ‘Add Method’.
- You will be prompted to download and install the Microsoft Authentication app. As already mentioned, this is already installed, click ‘Next’.
- On your phone - Open the Authenticator App.
- On your phone - Click the menu option (three dots in the top right).
- On your phone - Choose ‘Add Account’.
- On your phone - Choose ‘Work or school account’.
- On your phone - Click ‘Scan a QR code’. You may need to allow the app access to your camera.
- Point the camera on your phone at the QR code to scan it and click ‘Next’.
- On your phone - Open the ‘Authentication App’ and click ‘Approve’ to test the activation has been successful.
- You will be notified on screen that the authentication has been approved. Click ‘Next’ to finish the process.
