What is the ‘taskbar’?
The taskbar contains the start button, shortcuts to programs, bars representing open windows/files/software and the system tray. It can normally be found running along the bottom of the screen.
How are programs displayed in the taskbar?
Frequently used programs can be pinned to the taskbar. These will be displayed at the right hand side of the ‘Start/Windows’ button.
- Click one of these icons to run the program.
Any running programs will automatically show an icon in the taskbar (whether its normally ‘pinned’ or not).
A line will be displayed at the bottom to indicate an open program.
How do I pin programs to the Taskbar?
- Click the ‘Start/Windows’ button in the taskbar.
- Click in the ‘Search’ bar at the top.
OR
- Click ‘All Apps’ and scroll through the list of available software programs.
- Right click on the name of the program.
- Click ‘More’.
- Click ‘Pin to taskbar’.
