How do I set up Multi Factor Authentication?
- On any device other than your phone - In a web browser go to https://aka.ms/setupsecurityinfo (Remember, type this into the address bar at the top, not the search bar).
- Enter your email address and click ‘Next’.
- Enter your password and click ‘Next’.
- Click the ‘Add Method’ button.
- Choose ‘Authenticator App’ from the method drop down menu.
- Click ‘Add’.
- You will be prompted to download and install the Microsoft Authentication app. This should already be installed on work provided phones. Click ‘Next’.
- On your phone - Open the Authenticator App.
- On your phone - Click the 'Plus' sign.
- On your phone - Choose ‘Work or school account’.
- On your phone - Click ‘Scan a QR code’. You may need to allow the app access to your camera.
- Point the camera on your phone at the QR code to scan it and click ‘Next’.
A number will be displayed on screen.
- On your phone - Open the Authenticator app and type the number displayed on the PC into the box on the phone.
- On your phone - Click ‘Yes’.
- You will be notified on screen that the authentication has been approved. Click ‘Next’ to finish the process.
