Where are my contacts stored?
Contacts are created on your phone as part of your Apple profile. You can also pull down a copy of any contacts you have stored in outlook on your computer to your iPhone. See the Outlook App - Configuration section of this guide for more information.
Are my contacts backed up?
Contacts are backed up to the iCloud, however, for this to work you first have to sync them with your Outlook profile. See the Outlook App - Configuration section for more information.
How do I view my contacts?
Method One:
- Click the ‘Contacts’ app.
Method Two:
- Click the ‘Phone’ app.
- Click ‘Contacts’.
How do I create a contact?
- Open the ‘Contacts’ app or click ‘Contacts’ in the ‘Phone’ app.
- Click the ‘Plus’ icon.
- Complete the details required (Name, phone number etc).
- Click ‘Done’.
How do I create a contact from my call history?
- In the ‘Phone’ app open your recent call list.
- Click the ‘i’ at the right hand side of the phone number.
- Click ‘Create New Contact’.
- Enter the details for the contact.
- Click ‘Done’.
How do I add a number to an existing contact?
- In the ‘Phone’ app open your recent call list.
- Click the ‘i’ at the right hand side of the phone number.
- Click ‘Add to Existing Contact’.
- Type the name of the contact in the ‘Search’ box at the top of the screen or scroll through the list to find them. Click the name when displayed.
- Click ‘Update’ to confirm the change.
How do I amend a contact?
- Open the ‘Contacts’ app or click ‘Contacts’ in the ‘Phone’ app.
- Locate the contact to amend.
If the contact is stored on your phone:
- Click ‘Edit’.
- Amend the details as necessary.
- Click ‘Done’.
If the contact is stored in Outlook:
- Click the ‘Outlook’ link.
- Click ‘Edit Contact’.
- Amend the details as necessary.
- Click ‘Done’.
How do I delete a contact?
- Open the ‘Contacts’ app or click ‘Contacts’ in the ‘Phone’ app.
- Locate the contact to delete.
If the contact is stored on your phone:
- Click ‘Edit’.
- Scroll to the very bottom of the list.
- Click ‘Delete Contact’.
- Click ‘Delete’ to confirm.
If the contact is stored in Outlook:
- Click the ‘Outlook’ link.
- Click ‘Delete Contact’.
- Click ‘Delete’ to confirm.
How do I set a contact as a favourite?
You may wish to set contacts you use frequently as ‘favourites’.
- Locate and click on the contact.
- Click ‘Add to Favourites’.
- If you have a mobile number listed, choose whether to add this as:
- ‘Call’ - your contact will be called when you click it.
- ‘Message’ - clicking the contact will take you to the messages app to create a new message. This option will not be available for landline numbers.
How do I view my favourite contacts?

- Click ‘Favourites’.
How do I use my favourites?
- Click the name of the person in your favourites list.
- If you’ve set up the favourite as a call, the number will automatically be dialled. If you’ve set the favourite as a message, you will be taken to the messages app where you can type your message and send.
How do I remove a contact from the favourite list?
Method One:
- Click the ‘Phone’ app.
- Click ‘Favourites’.
- Click ‘Edit’.
- Click the ‘-’ next to the name of the favourite to be removed.
- Click Delete.
Method Two:
- Click the ‘Phone’ app.
- Click ‘Favourites’.
- Swipe from right to left on the favourite to be removed.
- Click ‘Delete’.
How do I reorganise my favourites?
- Click the ‘Phone’ app.
- Click ‘Favourites’.
- Click ‘Edit’.
- Press and hold on the menu bar at the left hand side of the favourite to reorganise.
- Drag the contact up or down until it is in the desired position.
