How can I check my data connection is working?
There are many things which would make it seem like you don’t have a data connection. The easiest and quickest way to check if you have a connection to start the Chrome app and go to any web page. If the web page displays, you have an active connection.
Why is my data connection not functioning?
If your data connection doesn't seem to be working there are various things you should check:
- Start by restarting your phone.
- Check your data connection is enabled following the instructions on the previous page.
- Try in another location. It could be an issue in your local area with the mast at the time.
- Have you had a text alert, informing you that you are close to reaching your data limit. Contact the ICT Helpdesk to have this resolved.
How do I reset my network settings?
If you are having issues with your data or WiFi connections you can reset the network settings. Only follow these instructions if instructed by a member of the ICT department.
- Open the ‘Settings’ app.
- Click ‘System’.
- Click ‘Advanced’.
- Click ‘Reset Options’.
- Click ‘Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth’.
- Click 'Reset Settings' to confirm the reset.
- Enter your phone unlock code.
- Confirm once again that you want to reset your network connections.
- Once the reset has completed. Close the app and restart your phone.
