How do I switch off Do Not Disturb?
If you find the phone doesn’t ring when you receive a call, you may have switched on the ‘Do Not Disturb’ function on your phone. You may also want to check the ring volume using the instructions in the ‘Getting Started’ section of this guide.
- Open the Settings app.
- Click ‘Sound’.
- If ‘Do Not Disturb’ is showing ‘On’, click it.
- Click ‘Turn Off Now’.
Why does my phone ring for some calls and not others?
If you find that the phone rings for some contacts, not others or during a specific time. You may have some exceptions to ‘Do Not Disturb’ switched on. For example, contacts can interrupt the ‘Do Not Disturb’, but unknown numbers cannot. The phone can ring during a specific time frame, but not others.
Switch off ‘Do Not Disturb’ or check for exceptions:
- Open the ‘Settings’ app.
- Click ‘Sound’.
- Click ‘Do Not Disturb’.
- Check the ‘People’, ‘Apps’, ‘Alarms and other interruptions’ and ‘Schedules to check and amend your exceptions.
What is ‘Flip to Silence’?
If you place your phone face down on a flat surface, the phone automatically switches ‘Do Not Disturb’ on.
How do I enable/disable ‘Flip to Silence’?
- Open the ‘Phone’ app.
- Click the menu option (the three dots in the top right hand corner).
- Click ‘Settings’.
- Click ‘Flip to Silence’.
- Switch the option on/off.
