Technology and communication services governance
As with any organisation there are things you should and should not do with the equipment and services we provide to you. There are also things you should and should not do with your own personal equipment in relation to your job.
In May 2025 Key introduced this completely new policy to replace the ICT Policy which was last updated in January 2018.
How we use technology and communications has changed significantly in that time. The policy was developed in collaboration with operational colleagues over many months. This was to ensure we struck the right balance and approach to enable everyone to do their job in a safe and secure manner.
A summary of responsibilities for all staff is provided, but we strongly encourage everyone to read the complete policy for the fullest understanding or if you are looking for greater detail about any specific area.

This policy should be read in conjunction with Key’s separate policies on data protection, data retention and procurement.
This revision of the policy is in effect from May 2025.
