There are a few things you can try if you find that Outlook no longer functions as it should.
A: Check for App and iOS updates:
If you haven’t updated the outlook app for a while, it may be an out-of-date version no longer supported.
You may also have the updated app but outdated operating system software.
Instructions on how to update the app and the iOS (operating system) can be found in the ‘Updates - Apps’ and ‘Updates - System’ section of this guide.
B: Check your data connection:
Instructions on how to check your data connection/WiFi is active can be found in the ‘WiFi and mobile data’ section of this guide.
C: Reset the Account:
With Outlook email displayed, click the icon in the top left to show the menu. Usually your initials.
Click the ‘Settings’ button in the bottom left.
Click ’Accounts’.
Click on the email account you wish to reset.
Scroll to the bottom of the list and click ‘Reset Account’.
- Click ‘OK’ to restart the app.
D: Remove the account and re-add it.
- Follow steps 1-4 in section C above.
- Scroll to the bottom of the list and click ‘Remove Account’.
- Re-add your account.
E: Use Outlook Web Access
If none of these solutions work contact the ICT Helpdesk. Remember you can use Outlook Web Access on your phone until the Outlook app is fixed.
