Restore from Recycle Bin:
If you delete a file on your desktop or documents folder it will be sent to the ‘Recycle Bin’. If the bin has not been ‘emptied’ restore the file from here.
- Double click on the Recycle Bin icon on your desktop.
- Locate and right click on the file/folder you need restore.
- Click Restore.
Restore from One Drive:
If the recycle bin has been emptied, a copy may still exist in your One Drive Recycle Bin.
Click the One Drive icon in the bottom right hand corner of the screen.
- Click ‘Recycle Bin’.
Locate and click on the file/folder in the list.
- Click ‘Restore’.
Restore from Backup:
Files deleted from a network share need to be restored from a backup by ICT staff.
Please provide us with the following information:
- The folder, path and filename - The location of where the file/folder would have been stored.
For example: Dundee\Service User\Joe Bloggs\Support Plan.doc
- The date of deletion.
We need to know when the file was deleted so we know which backup file to use.
